Oakland officers responded to a Hillside Avenue around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, to reports of a break-in, according to Oakland Police Capt. Timothy Keenan. Officers Jake Martin, Michael Didonato, and Karley Greulich found Angel Parra Zaragoza leaving the homeowner’s vehicle and immediately detained him.

Investigators determined that Zaragoza had allegedly tried to kick in the door, access an electronic keypad, and had attempted to break into a nearby home by removing a window screen and trying the front door.

Zaragoza is facing charges of burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, criminal mischief, and two counts of possessing fraudulent documents.

He was also issued a warning for underage alcohol use and remains held at the Bergen County Jail pending further proceedings.
